Valley Forge

By winter of 1777 they decide to go to Valley Forge. Most of the soldiers were without coats and even boots. They were waking towards the freezing snow. Some even without shoes. They were dying of coldness.

To make it worst there was no food left. Washington in this situation Decide to report to congress. He express that in the situation he is it should be decided three conditions. First to end the army and surrender to the British. Second to find for food and separate. And third to die of starvation. 

Someone soon came to help them. An volunteer form the Prussians Baron Von Steuben. By this he decided to train the army discipline and team work. As time passes the weather starts improving. Women in this weather went to visit their husband. This is what happened in the Valley Forge in 1777. 

The Battle of Saratoga

In October 17 of 1777  there was a big battle that made a big impact

and change in the battle of the Patriots with the British. Divide and

conquered was the strategy that the minister of the British presented

to invade America. They came down from Canada advancing down the

Huston Valley. As the troops came down, it came with their commander

William Howe. They were planing to bring troops and conquered New York

and New Jersey.

Unfortunately the british didn't know they would crash in a Patriots

trap. The troops crash together south at the town of Saratoga. 86% of

the Burgoyne's command were capture in that battle. The fight was

about 10 feet below the British. The Patriots victoriously won and

defeated the British.

This war battle a great importance in the revolutionary war. For that case this battle made the alliance of France been reviled in public. France had been supporting the colonist through the war, but they weren't recognize yet as an alliance. In that case Benjamin Franklin made a document that clears to show France as a alliance. This help a lot, for the reason soon Spain help, but it took alliance with France not the colonist. 

George Washington

George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. Washington served as a general and commander-in-chief of the colonial armies during the American Revolution, and later became the first president of the United States, serving from 1789 to 1797. He died on December 14, 1799, in Mount Vernon, Virginia.

Washington showed early signs of natural leadership and shortly after Lawrence's death, Virginia's  Governor, Robert Dinwiddie, appointed Washington adjutant with a rank of major in the Virginia militia.

he was grateful to receive the thanks from the House of Burgesses and see his name mentioned in the London gazettes.

Washington was given the honorary rank of colonel and joined British General Edward Braddock's army in Virginia in 1755.  In August, 1755, Washington was made commander of all Virginia troops at age 23. A month after leaving the army, Washington married Martha Dandridge.Washington became one of the more wealthy landowners in Virginia. The marriage also brought Martha's two young children, John Jacky and Martha Patsy

Loyalist oppose the Patriots demand

1/5 remainded loyal, according to stereotype, most loyalists were wealthy 

and do whatever they could to get into a high position on their jobs. many of the people feard pressure of loyalists, loyalist dislike taxes imposed by patriots. Oath Of Alligiance had to pledge their loyalty, they hated militia drafts, demanded by new patriots. Shutting down loyalist  newspaper.

Loyalist  conclude that the patriots asked for more taxes and less free press. Loyalists said  that the Patriots demend more taxes than parliament and had less liberty of speech. Loyalists appealed to America and enslaved Indian people, they wanted Britain help to make out the settlers.The king sent a resolution that settlers cannot go west of appasachians , cause Indians know that if they lost colonists would spread west.

If the slaves served to the British and they won. They will be free to ran away the British. Thats why loyalists opposed patriots cause of taxes more than the British also that they had no representation. Also the military draft and that they had closed them there newspaper.

George Washington crosses the Delaware River

On december of 1776 Washington going forward to have a victory for it

to be desperate times for the Patriots. The Continental army wascamping along the Pennsylvania shore of the Delaware River. GeorgeWashington  decides cross the Delaware River with 5,400 troops. Theywere hoping to surprise a Hessian army force and attack them. So theyall march and cross the Delaware River.

At the time of 11:00 pm Washington and the Continental army started crossing half of the Delaware river almost frozen. 2,400 soldiers were led by Washington successfully braved the icy and freezing river. The army reached to New Jersey side of the Delaware just before dawn.  As they pass through the river they got to the Trenton's.  In there they attack the Red coat army having their final victory.

This victory of the Continental Army made a great influence in their lives. They were motivated in getting better. The soldiers starting having hopes on the fact they could win the war. Washington continue attacking by the winter. For the reason no one expected to attack on winter.
