George Washington crosses the Delaware River


On december of 1776 Washington going forward to have a victory for it
to be desperate times for the Patriots. The Continental army wascamping along the Pennsylvania shore of the Delaware River. GeorgeWashington  decides cross the Delaware River with 5,400 troops. Theywere hoping to surprise a Hessian army force and attack them. So theyall march and cross the Delaware River.

At the time of 11:00 pm Washington and the Continental army started crossing half of the Delaware river almost frozen. 2,400 soldiers were led by Washington successfully braved the icy and freezing river. The army reached to New Jersey side of the Delaware just before dawn.  As they pass through the river they got to the Trenton's.  In there they attack the Red coat army having their final victory.

This victory of the Continental Army made a great influence in their lives. They were motivated in getting better. The soldiers starting having hopes on the fact they could win the war. Washington continue attacking by the winter. For the reason no one expected to attack on winter.
